June 2010 Field Trips

SATURDAY, June 19th,  BREEDING BIRD ATLAS ORIENTATION, 8 AM – NOON:  If you have been thinking of volunteering to help, but you’re just not sure what it’s all about or if you’re capable, join this on-site training day in an actual atlas block.  Mark Yaeger will walk you through the basics and answer any questions you may have.  You can do it!!

SATURDAY, JUNE 12, APISHAPA RIVER, EASTERN PLAINS, 8 AM - NOON:  ***
Cancelled due to illness - The leader for Saturday's trip from Aquilar has had to cancel because of illness

Trip departs from I-25 Exit 34 in the parking lot of the truck stop on the East side of the interstate.  Carpooling is essential on this trip and there is plenty of room to leave vehicles at the truck stop.  Contact Susan at 719-941-4436 or giffstar@earthlink.net with questions or concerns.   

SUNDAY, JUNE 13, HOLCIM NATURE TRAIL, 8-11 A.M.  Join conservation chair SeEtta Moss to view this very productive new area of  wetlands, open water, riparian forest and very good viewing of nesting Great Blue Herons and cormorants located adjacent to the Arkansas River east of Florence.   Meet at 8 A.M. at the Kwik Stop in Florence at 921 E.
