CYBER-NETWORKING FOR WILDLIFE

Have you visited the AVAS website lately? Our Webmaster Tim Tucey is working on updating several pages of the site which is found at www.socobirds.org.

Tim has plans to reproduce on the website the entire Harrier each month it is published. There is a possibility he might have it up when you receive this issue, and in color, too. Many organizations are phasing out printed newsletters in favor of electronic communications. If the cost of printing and mailing continues to rise AVAS may be forced to consider something along those lines.

On our website, please refer to the many links Tim has made to different websites dedicated to birds, conservation, environmental legislation and education. For more information, contact Leon Bright at (719) 561-1108

AVAS WELCOMES

NEW MEMBERS

It takes AVAS awhile to learn about changes in our official membership roll since we depend on National Audubon to process that information. According to our latest report from them, Shelley Stevens of Pueblo West is our latest new member. Welcome, Shelley!

Two people have transferred into our chapter from elsewhere. AVAS is pleased to include Tina Garris of Hillside (Custer County) and Dean Swift of Jaroso (Costilla County) as members of our chapter.

Thanks, also, to the eight AVAS members who recently renewed their Audubon memberships!

New AVAS Board Member Appointed

AVAS’s Board of Directors has appointed Donna Emmons of Colorado City to fill out the unexpired term of former Director At Large Martha Booth.

Donna is a welcome addition to the Board since she is a former active member of the Board for Aiken Audubon of Colorado Springs.
